Trauma is A Fact of Life. It does not, however, have to be a Life Sentence.

Peter A. Levine

About Me

Dynamic clinician with forty years successful experience in blending state-of-the-art manual therapeutic methodologies, neurotherapy, and psychological principles in the treatment of chronic/sustained pain, PTSD, traumatic stress, and substance abuse/addiction.

Created The Center for Pain & Trauma Recovery (CPTR), an integrative clinic that contracted with a neurologist, chiropractor, massage therapist, and psychotherapist with a focus on treating the complex patient population.  Also established The NeuroHarmonics Institute, which incorporated neurofeedback therapy to augment the treatment of the patient population at CPTR.

From 2010 to 2022 I practiced with intense focus on integrating the neurophysiological and psychological aspects of PNES, PTSD, and traumatic stress in the physical therapy department of the University of Colorado Hospital.  I was privileged to work with medical interns, residents, and physical-therapy students in this regard.  Instrumental in bringing the understanding of Trauma-Informed Physical Therapy to Colorado.

In June of 2022, I joined the staff of the Vermont Sports Medicine Center in Rutland, Vermont, becoming director in 2023.

One of the very few clinicians nationwide to simultaneously hold degrees in physical therapy and contemplative psychotherapy.  Lectured nationally with Dr. Robert Scaer, author of "The Body Bears the Burden" and "The Trauma Spectrum", on the neurophysiological aspect of PTSD and traumatic stress.
In cooperation with Sgt. Andrew Pogany, co-founded the “Operation Just One” movement in Colorado to help recruit healthcare providers to donate time and services to assist veterans in need.

Entered as Expert Witness in Chronic Pain in Sterling, Colorado, County Court, 7/98.
